Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Catterick Garrison

Unit 12 Princes Gate,Richmond Road,Catterick, North Yorkshire DL9 3BA, UK – 01748 876314

I've been here three or four times now, and the experience each time is about the same in that the food has always been excellent, but let down by the waiting staff. Unfortunately, there seems to be a lack of hospitality experience in the restaurant, which I think is where the problem lies. Some of the waiting staff don't seem to know how to talk to customers (if you manage to get them to talk at all), and appear very under enthused about being there in the first place. This has a knock on effect for other staff members, as well as the delivery of food to the table. On this occasion we had a starter and main, along with a few drinks. Not once did we get asked how our food was, which whilst some people may appreciate not being asked, it should always be done at least once. The restaurant wasn't that busy when we went in, so it had nothing to do with being run off their feet. There wasn't a feeling of them being even mildly attentive, which is a bit of a problem. Despite all of this, the chef delivered some top quality food. Our plates came out hot and cooked to perfection. I love food and there are only a small number of restaurants that I feel confident in, knowing I'll receive an excellent plate of food. We had the giant meatballs/baked mushrooms to start, followed by the roast belly of pork. Quite honestly, top quality. As this was the third (or possibly fourth) visit, with perfectly cooked food served each time, I felt compelled to compliment the chef personally. We have a Tastecard which offers us 2 for 1 on all courses, and on all occasions we've visited, we feel we've had great value for money (and more). In summary, this restaurant could be excellent if the staff had the right attitude to the business. There's so much more to hospitality than is currently being displayed, and if it's not for you then maybe consider another role elsewhere, because the only thing that keeps me returning is the quality of food served there. 2 out of 5 stars for the staff, 5 out of 5 for the food.

Very friendly staff, always very good table service & love the food

Brewers Fayre Catterick Garrison

Unit 23, Princes Gate Shopping Park, Richmond Road, Catterick DL9 3JG, UK – 01748 900403

This is the Brewers Fayre pub and restaurant attached to the Premier Inn Catterick Garrison. I would recommend it if you are staying at the Premier Inn Catterick Garrison and do not wish to travel too far for food and drink. I usually get the bus to Richmond and then when I return to Catterick Garrison I go in the Brewers Fayre pub for a drink. It can get very busy at breakfast times and it is recommended by the Premier Inn to book a breakfast time slot.

Really good friendly restaurant, great food. The food is now cooked much quicker, when they opened it took a while, now its good. The chef's counter is different every night and is good value with the exception of Saturday. The Saturday chicken night is really good but expensive. One point, but not a fault, is that it is connect to a premier inn so that means the breakfast is £8.99 which is more than a stand alone brewers. This needs looking at, so i am removing a star, but this is a head office issue, the restaurant is perfect.
